Download and install Claude Desktop from Anthropic. You need a version that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol) tool connections. Check the Anthropic docs for MCP compatibility.

Add the Flux MCP server config
Open Claude Desktop settings and add the Flux MCP server configuration. Point it at your Flux instance URL and provide your API key. The MCP server exposes board, column, and card operations as callable tools.

Once connected, ask Claude to create cards, move tasks between columns, list board contents, or update card details. Claude calls the Flux MCP server tools on your behalf. No manual API calls needed.

Review and iterate
Claude shows you what it did after each operation. You can ask follow-up questions, batch multiple board changes in a single conversation, or ask Claude to analyze your board state and suggest next steps.
01 Does this require a specific Claude version?

Yes. You need a version of Claude Desktop that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol). MCP allows Claude to call external tools, including the Flux MCP server. Check Anthropic's documentation for which Claude Desktop versions include MCP support.
02 What can Claude do with my Flux boards?

Claude can create and update cards, move cards between columns, list board contents, read card details, and manage labels. It uses the same operations available through the Flux REST API, exposed as MCP tools that Claude can call via natural language.
03 Is my data sent to Anthropic?

Claude Desktop connects to the Flux MCP server, which runs against your Flux instance. Board data is sent to Claude as context for your conversation. Review Anthropic's data handling policies for how conversation context is processed.
