// How to use this template
04 steps
01

Create a board for each departing employee

Duplicate this template for each offboarding. Add the employee name to the board title. Assign cards to the responsible person - HR, IT, or the direct manager - so everyone knows their tasks.

02

Work through Knowledge Transfer first

The most time-sensitive column. Ensure the departing employee documents critical processes, passwords, and institutional knowledge before their last day. Attach recordings and docs directly to cards.

03

Revoke access systematically

Use the checklist on each Access Revocation card to track every system. Check off SSO, VPN, GitHub, Slack, and cloud accounts one by one. Nothing gets missed when it is a checkbox, not a mental note.

04

Close out in Complete

Once all tasks are done, the board serves as proof that offboarding was handled properly. Archive the board for compliance records - Flux preserves full activity history on every card.

// FAQ
03 questions
01

Why use a board instead of an HR checklist?

+

A checklist lives in one person's inbox. A board gives visibility to every stakeholder - HR, IT, and the manager each see their assigned tasks and can track progress in real time. When the CTO asks if access was revoked, you have the answer in seconds.

02

How do I handle offboarding for multiple employees at once?

+

Create a separate board for each employee. Use Flux's multi-board view to see all active offboardings side by side. Filter by label to check if IT has completed access revocation across all departures.

03

Can I reuse this template for every offboarding?

+

Yes. Set up the template board once with your standard checklist items, then duplicate it for each new departure. Customize cards as needed - some roles require additional steps like client handoff or license transfer.
